Deaths Come in Threes

At least that's what Mom always says. But I realize more and more how right she is! Jared's dad just passed away, a woman in our ward's son passed away and now John's grandma has passed away. John wasn't going to go to his grandmother's funeral because his parents weren't going to go, but now they've decided to make the LONG trip to Michigan to be there. I think it's only right that they go. Since we can't afford airfare for me and Ben to fly we'll be staying at home. I can't imagine taking Ben on a road trip in the car for over 22 hours! So we'll be there in spirit. The funeral is on Sunday so John will be gone tomorrow afternoon through Monday night. I will be sad here by myself, but John really needs to be there! It's times like this that I get a little sad because it makes me realize how frail our mortal life is, but in the end it also makes me grateful for the time I do have with my family and friends and how much I love and appreciate all they do!

Everyone who has lost someone recently is in our prayers!

I had never heard that death comes in threes but I am begining to think it is true. I am remembering that my grandma and my best friend passed away within months of each other when I was younger. I later found out that my current best friend's sister also passed away at the same time as the other two. That is strange. I wonder why that is...

Hmmm, what if we said death comes in fours? Then when we got to four we'd go "Oh wow--there were four in a row!" Actually, death comes in ones, and it affects us greatly when someone we care about is no longer with us. I'm sorry about John's grandma and hope he can make it. Jared's niece Trisha is very upset that she can't be here with us, but Guam's awfully far away.
