Things I learned in the last 24 hours:

1. It really sucks when the Cowboys lose. But 3 year-olds can be lots of fun. I hope I don't forget the great interaction you can have when kids are that age. Natalie, daugher of Shannon, is a cool kid.

2. Molars that refuse to break the surface are a torment to a 17-month old. Ben was up at least 4 times last night burning hot and miserable. It made me very sad. And very tired.

3. Rain is wonderful in it's early sprinkle stages when the lightning is shooting across the sky and the air is cool. Makes for nice hugs on a back porch.

4. Rain is horrible at 8:15 in the morning when you're trying to get an unhappy toddler who didn't sleep well into the car and subsequently to the babysitter. Being soaking wet and running late doesn't help.

5. Sometimes I think I'm a complete idiot. For example, taking the back roads to avoid highway traffic while it's raining is a really bad idea. And when you're on the phone with your husband it makes you twice as distracted and will lead to rear-ending another car. Stupid me. Second accident in two years that was my fault. My car was still driveable (thank goodness!) because I had an all-day meeting today I COULD NOT MISS. We'll deal with the damage when I get home. :(

6. Crumpled hoods make a nice-looking car really ugly.

7. The car that has caused me to get into two accidents (okay so they were my fault but still!) that idles really rough, that leaks water into the drivers side floorboard and is missing decals on the trunk must be cursed and can only mean I need a new one. That must be it. I need a new car, it will save me a lot of headaches!

8. Celebrity Bakery makes AWESOME double chocolate chip cookies (don't worry, John, I saved one for you!). They make this morning feel a little better in my tummy.

9. Despite having really bad days I love my family. We have good friends. I have a wonderful job with really smart and funny co-workers. I don't have a lot to complain about!

Sorry about your bad day! If you need anything, let me know. I understand having a cursed car! It really does suck!

Hope tonight will be relaxing and tomorrow will be better.

I love you!

And I thought I was having a bad day! Thanks for helping me feel better Missy! I've had days like that, and they REALLY suck. The cookies sound very yummy, though. Chocolate has its way of making you feel better! Oh, and yes, you need a new car!

Missy, I'm so sorry about your day! You have such a good attitude, though, and remember tomorrow can only be better. And chocolate chip cookies make anything better. Love ya!

That sucks about the car, but at least you got to snuggle in the rain! There is a silver lining to every cloud :). And thanks for thinking Natalie is cool, I was sure she was being a pain on Sunday!

Glad you're ok! Sorry about your challenges in the last 24 hours. At least today is a new day and you get to start all over!

We have now had four cars damaged in the last two weeks - starting with Mandie, then some lady put some dings in my bumper downtown and some idiot scraped up Connie’s bumper with Mitch in the car and said she didn’t do it. Fortunately, there was a woman who witnessed it all. Having to get any kind of repair, even minor, really sucks. Hope your week is getting better.
