I've been tagged!
I was tagged by Shannon quite a while ago and am just now getting around to it. I've honestly been racking my brain trying to think of 6 things to write that nobody knows! My family actually knows most or all of these, sorry guys! Here are my attempts:
1. Just like Sarah, I was in marching band in high school. I was never drum major though, but I was a drummer. I played snare on the drumline all through high school (was drumline captain for 3 years) and had played percussion since I was in 6th grade. Apparently I was really pretty good, too. All of my sisters that were in band were really good. Unfortunately for me, I was one of those kids that was talented, but hated to practice. I still look back and regret not working as hard as I should have or practiced nearly enough. I think about how good I could have been and it kind of makes me sad, but I think that's why I'm trying my hardest now to develop my talents as much as I can!
2. One of my absolute favorite songs is "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. I'm not even joking! Evertime I hear this song, I have to turn it up as loud as I can and sing along. I mean there really isn't much to the words, right? It's greatness and I love it and I don't care what any of you think! :)
3. I know, this is sad, but I'm not sure a lot of you know this. When I was 19, my dad passed away from a 12-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. It was one of the most heart wrenching and yet spiritually uplifting experiences of my life. Sometimes when I get to thinking about what things would be like if he were here, I get really emotional, but ultimately, I can't imagine things having happened any other way and I am forever grateful for eternal families.
4. A few months before my dad passed away, two of my sisters, Mandie and Melinda, and I spent a week in Europe. We got tickets to London for $179 round trip during a really heated airfare war. We divided our time between London and Paris and had the time of our lives. They should be really lucky I have good sense of direction because I swear Melinda thought I was going to lead us away to get raped and pillaged by the locals, but we made it safely and had a really great time. To this day if I smell anything like what Paris smells like, it makes me nauseous. I am not a fan of Paris at all, but maybe if we went in the spring I'd like it more. John and I are planning on going to Eurpope on our 10-year anniversary.
5. When John proposed to me I said "I think so." I still have yet to live that down!
6. When I was in the 8th grade I got my belly button pierced. Well, technically, I actually let my best friend pierce my belly button for me! I was at my most rebellious when I was in Junior High. But despite all that, I was still a good kid I swear! My mom found out about the belly button because I told a girl at church because I can't even keep my own secrets and she ended up telling Melinda. And of course, Melinda told my mom. I had to take it out immediately but I felt so bad for disappointing my mom I don't remember getting a real punishment! You'd think that I would have gotten over the piercing thing, but when I was a senior I got my ears double pierced and my cartiladge pierced. Then a while later President Hinckley gave his talk about piercings and I am proud to say that I took mine out!
Okay, so it's not the most intersting list, but at least I did it. Mandie, Melinda, it's your turn!! Oh, and Randi and Texas too if you feel so inclined! :)
If I had only known about #2... Gag me...
LOL, good list! When keith proposed I said, "are you serious?"...hehehe
Well, then, John, maybe #2 will make you feel better about the "I think so." Good list, Missy, and I couldn't even imagine getting my belly button pierced by a professional, much less a friend! Ouch!
Good list Missy!! Im glad I have a fellow "band geek" for a friend! I totally wanted to learn how to play the snare! But opted for the brass instead...I'll always regret that!
Hehe...I keep thinking of new things when I read other people's tag posts! When I was 18/19 I got my belly button pierced (by a professional) and I had my tongue pierced for 2 months (my mom threatened me) and still have scars to remind me of my *wilder* days!!!
Yay for band geeks in polyester marching uniforms! Would you belive me if I told you I almost played the french horn? Really!
And don't tell John I told you guys, but he had his tongue pierced in high school! Haha!
I say next post is proposal stories! Shannon, you're first!
you guys don't want to hear my proposal story, but I will do it tonight if I get reeeeeeally bored...lol.
And a little birdie told me that Keith had his ear pierced, I mean a bee sting, yeah, that's right it was a bee sting...
I loooove In the Air Tonight.
In high school I got to watch a friend get her belly button pierced by a "non-professional" and it looked painful enough that I never wanted to get mine done. I had other experiences with needles though.
Wait! I just realized that sounded really bad!! :(
Just to clarify I have *never* done drugs.
Ok, moving on...
hehe Julie..thats funny!
And I am SO glad Im not the only one...that hilarious about John, I would have never guessed!
Im all for proposal stories...but mine does stink, too :) LOL!
YOU'RE a presentation tool!
