The Funny Things Kids Do
My early work hours are a blessing and a curse. I get home a lot earlier, but in turn Ben wakes up really early on the weekends even if I put him down later the night before. We're talking 6:30am, if not earlier! My days of sleeping in are long gone. But that's not really funny. He's been in remarkably good moods lately compared to his horrible teething and being sick episodes as of late. He does this funny thing now where he grabs my hand and walks me around to what he wants to do or what he wants to eat. Everytime I usually say "What?" in a mockingly exhasperated tone and he'll take me where he wants me to go. After a few days of him doing this he picked up on what I was doing. Now everytime he grabs my hand we walk around to a chorus of him repeating "What?! What?! What?!" It cracks me up!
He's also learned a few new words: what, choo-choo (train), slide and uh-oh. He's incredibly stubborn about trying to say new words. They'll come in time, but I know there's a lot more he probably can say, but just won't try!
I'm glad he's feeling better. Just wait til he starts asking "why?"
It is so cute which words they decide to latch on to! And yes, pretty soon you won't be able to keep him quiet, I know thats what they all say, but it is so true, it will seem like all of a sudden the switch is turned on and they start learning new words every day!
He probably can say a lot more than you think, he just knows you want him to, so he's holding out. He's so cute.
That's so cute!! They are like little monkeys. Mimicking everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, we do!!
