Okay, so I'm going to jump on the New Year's Resolution bandwagon. I didn't do this last year for some reason. I should have posted something so I could look back and see how well I did. Well, I can probably guess how well it would have gone but this year will be great, I swear! My mom had a lady tell her that if your house starts off clean for the new year it will stay clean all year long. I know it sounds kind of lame, but I thought anything would help! But alas, we all got sick and that wasn't going to happen. I did get our bedroom in decent shape, though! Anyway. Here is my list for the new year. Update to come in January 2009:

1. Lose 20 pounds. And don't you dare say I don't need to lose any weight because I've seen pictures of myself and I do too! Goal is to be close to my wedding weight (which is about 10 lbs higher than my lowest-ever weight.) My goals is to achieve this by Spring Break so we can go to the beach!

2. Read my scriptures every day. I'm so bad about this. I also vow to take my scriptures to church ever week. It's hard with all my RS stuff and Ben Sacrament Bag that I hardly have room for my scriptures!

3. Help John find a new job. I know this will require more work on John's part, but I can do a lot to help him out. I mean, we'll both benefit so why not BOTH help make it happen?

4. Get halfway out of debt. This will hinge upon John getting a new job, but regardless we're making a concerted effort.

5. Be perfect tithe payers. Because right now we're not, but in RS someone said to pick one thing at at time and perfect it and we'll start with tithing!

6. Organize one closet a month. We're nearing the stage where we'll be planning on improving our condo to sell in the hopefully not to distant future. For this to be done we really need it organized. I'll start with the closets! One a month. We have 4 closets. I can do it!

7. Get Ben off his pacifier and started potty training. We're in the process of getting rid of the pacifier and have already noticed an increase in his talking so hopefully that will facilitate more new words and more independence on his part! Ben is growing so fast it's amazing. We love him!

8. Get my Etsy shop up and running and start on programming for my website. I'm going to test some of my cards, invitations and other things on Etsy in preparation for getting my website up and running. Thanks, Ambyr for the referral on the printer, it will help a lot. I'll let everyone know when my Etsy shop is up and you can tell all your friends! :)

I could probably think of about 50 other things I need to improve upon but I wouldn't want to get carried away. Maybe I'll do a mid-year update. Good luck to everyone on all of your goals, too!

Looks like a great list! Good luck!

I have a lot of those same resolutions but didn't even bother listing them! I guess they say that a goal isn't a goal till you write it down, right? Once this baby is out, I have 5 months to get a super hot body for my brother's wedding! No pressure!

I didn't know you are going to open and ETSY shop! That is so cool, what are you going to sell?? And good list by the way, all worthy goals!

Yeah, I figured Etsy was a good way to get started until I can get my own site up! I'm still not 100% sure what I'm going to sell yet. Probably things like baby announcements and invitations, things like that. But I think I'll also expand into other areas like funky paper crafts and matching accessories to some of the invites. It's going to take a lot of work, but I'm excited to give it a try!

And, hey, Mubeen, you did it once so I'm sure you can do it again! Plus you look good now so it's not going to be THAT much work, right? :)

Those are good resolutions!

I would LOVE to help you with the closets! Maybe some saturday (when we're in town) I can leave the kids with B and come over.

Hey, I'm always up for cleaning and organizing! I'd be more than happy to help with your closets!

Hey Missy, after being at this new job for a few months, I found out that the writer here, used to be at D, and she knows you. Her name is Laurie Dent -- she said to say hi! ^_^ (And good luck with your goals -- I still need to finish organizing my closets, though I'm close -- and need to work on some drawers, too!)

Missy  – (January 07, 2008 3:26 PM)

Wow, Laurie Dent, um... I'll send you an email! Ha!

Missy-the difference is that last time I took the easy way out. This time, because I'll be nursing, I can't do the Medifast diet. :-( I have to do it the hard, yet right way..you know-the whole eating right and working out thing...sigh :-I

Okay, I know I'm old and out of it, but what on earth is an "etsy" shop?

Missy  – (January 08, 2008 9:27 AM)

Look on my sidebar links, Ginny, and there's one for Etsy. It's a place where people can sell handmade goods like jewelry, paper crafts and stuff like that. It works like eBay without the bidding and is mostly handmade really cool stuff. It's a great site and it's easy to spend hours on it!

I hope the etsy shop works well for you. My friend Erin (the one that our bolg has a link to) sales some pretty cute products on etsy. Anyhow, it sounds like you have made some really noteworthy resolutions.

Cute blog layout!!! I have been wanting to change mine for a while but can't figure out where to go to change it. Don't like any of the default ones!

I love the new layout! It looks sooooo good!

Jealous of the layout. Make one for me! :)
