Ben has the flu.

Yeah, it's true. Positive test at the pedi today as well as an ear infection. I thought he might have an ear infection so I had planned on taking him to the dr anyway then he woke up with a burning fever this morning and I feared the worst. I could be dramatic and say we had the worst time at the doctor and it took forever and that it's been a miserable day and Ben is super cranky and I can't wait till he gets better. But I can't. The doctor took less than 45 minutes and even though Ben cried most of the time, he had a 103.7 fever so I can't blame him. We came home and he almost instantly fell asleep and took a 2+ hour nap. He got a dose of ibuprofen when he woke up then after about half an hour of whining he started drinking fluids again and is now eating Cheerios while happily watching Toy Story. Ben never seems to amaze me with his resilience. He'll be better soon I have no doubt, I just hope he'll be able to keep his antibiotics down or the dr says we have to go back tomorrow for a shot of it! (I'm crossing my fingers we don't have to do that, and that this post doesn't jinx him into super crabbiness!)
