Celebrating the 4th

I am a very patriotic person. I think America is the greatest country in the world and I'm not afraid to say so! I love the 4th of July. We always celebrated it growing up at my grandparents lake house and we would shoot fireworks. Then as we got older we started going to Concerts in the Gardens in Fort Worth. For years while I was in middle and hgh school we would volunteer because you get free tickets. Now we just go every year and enjoy the ambiance and the amazing fireworks! We took Ben when he was a baby two years ago and last year was rained out. So we decided to take him this year and are glad we did! He was great. Super shy and tired most of the time, but John took him on a walk and bought him one of those light up toys and he was in heaven. And yes, all of my family gave us a hard time for getting it but we honestly don't spoil him with things like that ever. He was a little scared of the fireworks (Mary LOVED them!) but overall we had a really great time as usual! Just a few pics this time. I'm getting a little photo heavy after this weekend. :)

The 4th is BY FAR my most favorite holiday! Seriously, God Bless America! We are so blessed to live here, and who doesn't love to celebrate that? That sounds like a great fireworks thing, I am bummed b/c I work this year (again) and will miss out.

I love the 4th! Growing up we always went to the parage in downtown Arlington, and now we take the boys. And we always get Shipley's donuts to eat while we watch. The Concerts in the Gardens look and sound like fun, I'll have to check it out next year!

Great pics! And okay, you spent some money on the toy, but I think it might be the best $5 (or whatever) you've ever spent--he LOVED that thing!

Yes Ben absolutely loved that little light up toy and I just wanted to watch his face light up every time he played with it... thats why I bought it for him, and it made me feel really good to watch him have so much fun with it. I just want to thank grandma for buying us tickets so that we could be there. We really had a lot of fun! So thank you so much from all of us Shirley. We really appreciate everything you do for us.

Love the picturs, the fireworks ones are so good. And there's nothing wrong with an occasional "spoiling" toy on a special occasion.
