Our Weekend in Houston v2

This weekend we went to Houston again so that I could shoot my niece's sister's wedding. My mom was super nice enough to let us take the van she is driving right now as a rental car since the last time we were in Houston someone hit her and now her car is in the shop. We are so glad we got to take that van! It was so big and roomy and we would have been so uncomfortable without it. (And can I just say how great stow and go seats are?)

We drove down on Friday afternoon and made really good time. We got stuck outside of Conroe AGAIN but this time were able to get on the access road and missed most of the traffic. But that also meant we had an extra good view of what looked like a fatality accident halfway up the median between the freeway and access road! It was pretty sad. We got to Kenny and Texas' house around dinner time and went to Johnny Carino's for dinner with my nephew Kile and his girlfriend, Damaris. We pretty much had the worst waiter ever and had a really bad experience there and there was a HAIR in Damaris' salad! But thankfully for my wonderful husband and him not being afraid to tell the manager, we got our dinner for FREE! Sweet.

The wedding was Saturday morning and we all trekked up to the Houston temple and it was HOT. John mostly stayed in the car with Ben and watched dvds. The picture taking went pretty good. I still have a lot to learn about my camera and shooting in different lighting conditions, but overall I know she'll be happy with them. I'll have a full post up later! The reception really came together and it was beautiful. I think one of the coolest things was that the family found out that they were just going to go back to their apartment on their wedding night so Kenny ran home and booked them a hotel room at a hotel in downtown Houston. It turns out that the restaurant at that hotel is where they got engaged!

We had a great time overall. My niece's family is so nice and they were a lot of fun! The bridesmaids' dresses were made by her sister-in-law and turned out so adorable. We got home in time to snag some dinner at my mom's when we dropped the van off then headed home. Unfortunately when we got home and turned the a/c back on it wasn't working! The inside fan motor would run but the compressor wouldn't turn on. So John called the a/c guy that fixed our motor before and he's coming out this morning. That just meant we had to drive BACK to my mom's house to stay the night there! I really just want to go to my own house and sleep in my own bed! I'll update on the a/c when we find out what's wrong! I'm just crossing my fingers that it will be an easy fix!

Update: Our a/c is working! And it only cost $127 to fix. Oh, and here is a manufacturer pic of the sweet ride we got to drive this weekend. It'll totally make you want to buy a mini van!

Sounds like a great trip! And that van looks sweet! I have always wanted a van, even though they get a bad rap, and stow and go seating is one of my number one MUST HAVES! I love the idea of that extra storage, and the ability to fold down one of the middle seats...oh man! Now I am daydreaming again! Can't wait to get one!

Vans are great! We love having all the space. I know that there is no way we could have made this trip without it.
