Another One Bites the Dust
A couple of weeks ago I bought these really adorable Orla Kiely coasters at Target in preparation for moving into my new office. They will spend a total of 11 days in my new office as tomorrow is my last official day at BISD.
It was not my choice to go, which is what everyone on Facebook is asking. My job was cut from the budget and will be restructured to a PR position (skills I obviously don't have). I was told this Monday afternoon and have had to come in all week to finish some projects I am working on. I won't go into any details or say anything negative because it is what it is! I am not the only one in this position and there will likely be many more to come.
I'm actually doing great. Yeah it totally sucks. TOTALLY. I'm diligently searching for a new job. Will be picking up some new shoes for my interview outfit and am feverishly getting my portfolio up to date. But, yes, it sucks. John and I are confident that we will be taken care of. I have been so blessed to find good jobs in the past and am excited for a new opportunity!
In all of this my biggest sadness comes from the fact that Ben will no longer be able to go to his school. I have already found a place where he will likely end up and, although it's more expensive, we are willing to pay more if we can to get him into the same preschool environment he is in now. We haven't really told him he won't be going back to school there. I'm not sure he would really understand. But we have told him we're looking for a new school and he seems okay with that.
So we're praying I can find something that will be great for us and something that will happen fast! It's the worst time to lose a job, but it's not the end of the world (and it's not like I haven't been through this before).
Wish me luck!!
You have such a great attitude about this! Good luck in your job search. If I hear of anything, I'll let you know!
Good luck! I know you're going to be blessed and that you'll be able to find something that is right for you! If I can do anything to help, let me know.
Of course we wish you the best and are keeping you in our prayers.
Oh wow. I'm so sorry! It really stinks, but I'm proud of your attitude. You will find something. You are super talented. Hey, maybe you'll have more time to do some photography!
Like the post above says you ARE super talented and will find something. I hope it's something you LOVE. Good luck!
That SUCKS! Seriously, that is incredibly crappy. I'm really sorry you have to go through the uncertainty of it all. But it's true, with your amazing skills and impressive portfolio, you're sure to find something in no time.
You're so talented, of course you'll find something quick! Good luck with the job hunting, I'm sure it will be super hard, but you'll be ok like you said. We're thinking of you!
This is mostly just echoing the sentiment above, but you are incredibly talented. I hope you find something great and soon. Having such a positive attitude will help greatly.
You have such a great resume that I am sure you will find something even better suited for you and your skills! Good luck on all the interviews, and if you ever need a last minute sitter for Ben so you can jet off to one, feel free to call! Seriously.
WE love you Missy! We will be praying for you and know that you will be taken care of. Let us know if you need anything! I am at my Mom's for the next three months so if you need someone to watch Ben while you go on interviews, etc., just let me know. I will need something to do to keep me busy!

Best of luck with getting a new job. You are certainly marketable are the type that interviews well. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. As was your last lay off this is sure to be a blessing in disguise.
Aw, man, that sucks, BUT I know you'll find the perfect thing! Good luck!
Refiners fire, Missy. :)
To avoid being a debbie downer, maybe this layoff will provide an opportunity you wouldn't have had if you stayed at Burleson.
