Six Week Check-up

I took Ben to the pediatrician this morning for his 6 week check-up and for his second round of shots. I really like my pediatrician and the nurses in the office. He now weighs 10lbs 14oz and is 23 1/2" long. He's in the 90th percentile for height and 50th for weight. I guess we've got a tall skinny guy for the time being, though he definitely doesn't get that for me. Ben fell alseep while waiting for the shots so he cried a bit when I laid him on the table because it woke him up. The nurse took advantage of that and got him with the first two shots in the left leg. He screamed for a few seconds then rolled his head over and fell asleep! He slept through the last two shots! The nurse was amazed.

So we bandaged him up and I headed to McKinney to spend the afternoon with Mandie and Melinda. Ben was fine, I gave him some Tylenol (which he really seems to like the taste of, I'm sure he'll have a sweet tooth) so he wouldn't get too fussy, then all you know what broke loose later while we were out shopping and he cried for nearly 10 minutes and was almost inconsolable! He's never done anything like that so I gave him more Tylenol and he finally quieted down. Needless to say, we needed to get home, but we hit a huge thunderstorm going back to Melinda's and I got drenched getting loaded up in my car! Ben's been really happy since we've been home and now it's bedtime!

Sorry about the rain Missy! It dropped 0.7 of an inch in that 30 minutes! We were SO happy to see the rain, but not to see you get drenched! I'm glad you two made it home safely!
