Hmm...
I was having a conversation with an editor here at work and she was standing up the Incredibles action figures that I said had gone all "caddywampus" on my desk. She had never heard the word caddywampus. Is it just me or have you heard that word, like, a thousand times? I mean, some people probably prefer helter-skelter, but I think caddywampus is quite fun. I then went on to tell her that I often misuse big words on purpose sometimes and was glad that I had used caddywampus in it's proper form. She went on to tell me that she makes fun of people like me and people who mispronounce big words. I mean come on, she hadn't ever heard of caddywampus and wants to make fun of "people like me" just because we think it's sometimes humorous to misuse those same big words? Right. ;) Then she declared a new love of caddywampus vowing to use it as often as she could and went on her way. Jerk! Stealing my word! I know, I'm bitter, but I'm just really tired...
Let's think of other words for her to steal, like Hoity-toity. Hey, ramiumptum would REALLY throw her!
Missy, just think of yourself as a trend-setter! You're the cool person that everyone wants to be like, so they steal your words!
Well I wouldn't consider "caddywampus" as some trendy term, but I would like to think she just wishes she were cooler than she really is. Nikki, she's the "wanda" of my office I've been telling you about!
