American Idol-Week 1
So every week I'll try and post a comment on that week's American Idol for all you watchers out there. This week was more of the same usual stuff. Bad bad bad bad bad good bad bad good good bad bad bad. I swear, why don't they show more of the good singers? That's really the only reason why I watch it, because I want to see the good singers! Maybe I should skip the first FOUR WEEKS of the city auditions and wait for Hollywood. But then I wouldn't be excited to see anyone that I saw in their original audition. Like, I missed Kelly Clarkson's original audition and somehow I wish I could have said "I knew she was going to win from the moment I heard her audition!" so I can somehow take credit for it. I saw a few great great singers in the Minneapolis/Seattle auditions. Like the girl who sang Katherine McPhee's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I don't know why that always gets me a little choked up. I think I cried the whole song when Katherine sang it last season, WHILE SITTING DOWN. So good. I only hope someone this season pulls out that sort of performance and ends up winning instead of some gray haired weirdo. NOT a fan of Taylor Hicks, which is why I didn't watch the finale! As everyone has been saying, Seattle was the worst audition city ever. I think you can blame the producers, too, though, because they're the ones that let these people into the audition room because they think it will be good tv. It's not good tv. But I'll watch it anyway, looking for those little nuggets of talent that so rarely get thrown in! Tuesday, it's Mephis!
I have trouble watching all the bad people say that they're so good! It drives me nuts that there are so many people out there who think they can sing, but they can't!
