Success!
John and I feel very blessed that Ben is not one of those babies that sticks EVERYTHING in its mouth. I was actually really worried about it because he just doesn't put things in his mouth-EVER. I talked to our pediatrician about it and he said not to worry, but to keep offering him things. I was most concerned about Ben learning to feed himself. If he won't put a teething toy in his mouth then he sure wouldn't put food in his mouth either! So every night at dinner I've been giving him a Ritz cracker. He LOVES those crackers but I frankly don't want to sit there and hold it in his mouth for him while he nibbles on it. It's a little silly, frankly! Two nights ago he REALLY wanted that cracker and had been holding it in his hand for about 5 minutes. I looked over at him a minute later and he had bitten a piece off and was eating it. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but at nearly 10 months I figured he needed to learn how to do this! Yesterday at lunch with mom and Melinda he successfully at half a cracker and then tonight at dinner he ate an entire Ritz cracker plus a couple of smaller Gerber cheese crackers, too! I know you are all probably like whoopdie doo, but to me it's a big deal! I even took pictures as proof! So here are two photos of Ben sort of finishing off some crackers and the last just because he has such a cute face. Hope everyone is having a great weekend because mine has just gotten better!
Wahoo! This is super exciting for you! The picture of Ben with the cracker coming out of his mouth is really cute!
Unfortunately, I NEVER had that problem with my kids. They put EVERYTHING in their mouths! Tommy still does! I found a rock in his mouth this morning! Count your blessings, Missy!
