Washing Machine Woes

Our GE washer stopped working yesterday morning. Or was it Saturday? Days just seem to blend together... Anyway. Our washing maching stopped working and it was half-filled with water. We google'd some things to do to fix it, like clean out the pump, replace the pump, etc. But our problem is that we're in a 2nd floor condo and our washing maching is half full of water! Anyone know how to empty it? Anyone know how to replace a pump? We'll figure it out, I just hope we don't have to buy a new one!

It must be in the air because my dryer just stopped working today! I've been having trouble turning it on, and it usually takes me a couple of times, but this time it never came on! And it was full of wet clothes! I now have an entire load of laundry hanging up in my bathroom, and a dryer that doesn't work. Grrr....Hopefully it's just a blown fuse, or wire or something, and Danny can fix it. If not, mom has a back-up plan for me. Isn't she great?

I'm not very smart, so the only thing I could come up with is to unload the water one bucketful at a time. I have no idea if that would even work.

That's actually what we did, Nikki! John still felt it was too much of a task to try and fix it himself so we called my mom's repair guy. Hopefully he can fix it today or tomorrow! We did some laundry at my mom's last night. Fun...

Well, I hope you get it fixed soon. Personally, I HATE not having my own washer and dryer. I'm just glad your mom has let me do laundry over there on Sundays, or I'd be up a creek and spending millions of dollars in the laundry room.

You guys have had a lot of trials lately! I hope it gets fixed soon! Oh, and read Danielle's last entry if you want to feel good about your life.

I DID read it and was horrified! That poor girl. She's so young too! I don't think it would make me want to move, but maybe get a house in the suburbs somewhere. But anywhere you go, things are not going to be entirely safe. She should feel blessed that they've escaped harm so many times. It's still awful though!
