Celebrating Our Independence
Last night on my way home from Suzy's house I got stuck in horrible traffic on 820 because of an accident that just happened. I was listening to 102.9 and watching some fireworks off in the distance. They started to play God Bless America and for some reason I got a bit of an overwhelming patriotic feeling. Now, I don't consider myself a huge patriot, but after many years of listening to talk radio and really understanding what's going on in our country these days I have grown to appreciate what we have, so then I also got a little sad. John and I have had a lot of conversations about Liberals and conservatism because his professor is a big Hillary loving Lib and it drives him crazy, and has also driven him to listen to talk radio more. I just feel sorry for people who are obsessed with the aquisition of power that they fail to stop and look at what a great country we live in and want to make our country and it's people better. I know I probably sound like Sean Hannity, but I really do feel that way. And I know it sounds cheesy, but I really am proud to be an American!
Me too!
