I Love My Husband, Relief Society and Ibuprofen
Today has been a busy day. A very busy day with three themes: John, Relief Society and Motrin.
John. I miss my husband. I'm not used to him being out of town. I know it sounds sappy because he's only been gone since Friday, but it still sucks. Mandie, how do you do it? And it doesn't help to have Ben throwing random screaming fits of "Dadadada Daddy!" It makes me so sad! I know he misses John too. We can't wait to have him back!
Relief Society. Today was our Enrichment Super Saturday. I volunteered to work in the nursery for an hour of the 3-hour time frame since I never had a chance to prepay for the classes on Sunday. Nursery was crazy, but Ben was a real trooper. I was so proud of him! I don't think we will have any trouble transitioning him to Nursery on Sundays during meetings. I'm really looking forward to that. I won't say anything bad about the women in RS, but let's just say that NOT signing up when you knew you were going to bring your kids makes nursery chaotic. 17 kids is a lot! But the women in our ward our amazing. I had a really great time despite the crazy kids. Thanks to everyone that helped in Nursery! And especially to Linda Larsen for being the quick on her toes. :)
Childrens Motrin. Ben has been a little grump bucket the past couple of days and had an awful night last night. What do you do when your kid is up in the middle of the night screaming his head off?? Tylenol didn't work neither did Orajel. I just had to let him scream till he was hungry enough for some milk then get him to go back to sleep that way. After an hour I might add. And that was the 2nd time! So he really needed a nap today. We were so late getting home from RS that he didn't get down until after 1pm and had to cry himself to sleep. Unfortunately, after only an hour, a super quick and super strong storm blew through and set of one huge clap of thunder that instantly woke Ben up. SIGH. He was so cranky after that, but I got him calmed down long enough to run to Target for some groceries. But of course I forgot the two things that were the reason we went: Milk and Motrin. So after stopping for some McDonald's for dinner as Ben's reward for being so good that morning, we went BACK to the store for Ibuprofen. I gave him a dose the instant we got home and 20 minutes later he was a completely different kid! He didn't even protest when it was bedtime and babbled himself to sleep. I'm praying for a good night tonight.
I know, this is a long post and no one has probably had the attention span to get this far, but I must get to the 4 projects that need my attention tonight: Cleaning my house, the Hireamaverick logo, the TX Girls Choir Gazette, and my weekly RS announcements. And I'm already exhausted!
Missy, you are such a trouper! It is not fun without a husband and you are doing a great job! Thanks for sharing about your day. I hope your night goes better!

I had a friend a long time ago who had a little card file of bad days. When she had a bad one, she wrote down every horrible thing that went wrong. Then when she opened her file to put it in, she could always find a worse day and it made her feel better. I think this could go into your bad day file, but hopefully today will be better. Love ya' Sis, hang in there. If you get too lonesome come on over! The pool water is 90 and wonderful!
You've been posting some great stuff, Missy!
I can't believe that Motrin changed him like that. Wow!
There is a new country song by Rodney Atkins that I think about when I have a hard time with something or hear of others having a rough time. For what it is worth here is the link to its lyrics.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one that has one of "those" days!!!
