Trunk or Treat

Tonight was our ward's trunk or treat. It's 9:00 and Ben still hasn't fallen asleep yet! It's okay because we had a pretty fun time. We were so stressed because I got caught in really bad traffic and didn't get home until after 6:30. The Trunk or Treat started at 6:30. I felt so awful because John had gone through all this trouble to make chili for the chili cook-off and I was afraid we'd miss out on that. Luckily, after battling the traffic on Cooper, we got there in time to still eat. Our ward definitely runs on Mormon Standard Time because we didn't get there till 7:15! Here are some photo highlights of us and Mr. Incredible!

After eating they had a costume parade. Here is John walking Ben around in the parade. Needless to say Ben was very confused the entire night. The girl and pumpkin next to John in the second pic is our babysitter, Shawnee, and her son, Clayton.

I thought Noah here was cute as a Lightning McQueen pit crew member.

Then we went out for the trunk or treating. Ben really didn't want much to do with any of it. Well, he just wanted to run around with all of the kids, but he still had a good time! And yes we're the ghetto parents who leave the price tag on his candy bucket! Oh, AND I had to photoshop out the small spot of chili I had on my chin to go with the chili I also had on my shirt and jeans. Thanks, Ben!

This is the back of Shawnee's van. She and her husband stayed up till 2am finishing it last night. The kids could crawl in to get their candy. Kind of cool!

I thought Cynthia and her husband, whose name escapes me as does their last name, were really clever to set up a tent and put out the camp chairs and have a fake fire (which I didn't get in the picture) and dressed up as smores. They made me laugh out loud. Very cute!

Afterwards we let Ben run around in the gym for a while and didn't realize they were doing the prizes outside. So we went home. It was way past Ben's bed time and we were all really tired! It was a fun time and we got some good candy. I mean Ben got some good candy. I can't wait till next year when he can really get what is going on! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Such cute pictures! Ben looks so precious. I wish we could have been in two places at once. And your chili photoshopping had me laughing harder than I have in a while!

Of course they did it inside! That was one of the main reasons we didn't go b/c it was awful when they had the whole thing outside last year. It looks like you guys had a great time, Ben looks adorable!

I was going to email you Shannon and tell you they were going to do it inside, but I knew you already had plans to go to Sarah's. Maybe next year, right?

And both your monkeys were so cute!

Ben is a good Mr. Incredible. That looks like a fun and well planned trunk or treat. I am glad you had a good time (and that you made it in time). Happy November!

We didn't even make it to our trunk or treat. I'm glad you had a good time! Ben is a hottie!

Oh, and how did you get him over his fear of the costume?

Shawnee's van was really clever! Ben was very cute last night.

I can thank John for getting Ben over his fear of the costume. I don't know how he did it or if Ben was just in the right mood, but John pulled it our earlier in the day and he just put it right on! And I was thinking it may be fun for him to be Mr. Incredible again next year so we can see how much he's grown!

Ben is perfect as Mr. Incredible, masculine yet a family guy. I am glad you had a nice Halloween.
