Happy Belated Thanksgiving, and Other Fun Stuff!
I know I haven't blogged in a few days. Not working and having John home, too, has been so much fun! We started off the holiday festivities by going to see Finding Nemo on Ice at Reunion Arena with a bunch of my family members. We were worried about taking Ben because it started when he was supposed to be in bed and he doesn't exactly sit still very well. He did really great, though! Our great niece, Mary, who's a month older than Ben did really well too! Unfortunately during intermission Ben dumped my Coke in his lap and even though I brought a change of pants (thankfully!) his diaper absorbed more than I thought it would have and we ended up leaving just before the finale because it was leaking onto my leg! Luckily, we missed all of the traffic and got home at a decent hour! It was really fun, and thanks to my mom for buying tickets for the family to celebrate her own birthday!
We spent Thanksgiving day with John's family in Mt. Pleasant at his brother, Ken's house. They live on a good amount of acreage so there's lots to do. We had a really good time and since we don't see John's family very often, it was good to catch up, and Gena, Ken's wife, made one heck of a Thanksgiving dinner (all by herself!) Here are some pictures. I did a before/after of Emma. Her hair is getting out of control!

The last couple of days we've spent just hanging out, trying to get organized for the holidays, getting prepared for my new job and doing lots of shopping. I recently found out I can't wear jeans to work so I needed work pants. I'll miss my jeans! I'm so glad that I have a husband that actually likes to shop! We got all of our last minute Christmas decorations and got a lot of the house decorated. Here are some pictures our our tree. The rest of the house is still a mess from all the boxes so I'll post some others later.
And finally, here are some adorable pictures of Ben! He is going to freak out in the morning when he wakes up and sees the Christmas tree up. I'm so excited!
Very cute!! I think you may have the same tree skirt we have, but it's blurry so I can't tell for sure. Is it velvet red in the middle and then green around? So we really wanted to go to Nemo on Ice but had so much going on Thanksgiving weekend, we didn't get to go!!! Maybe next year! Seems like you had a great Thanksgiving!! xoxo
It was great visiting with you and seeing John and Ben over the break. You tree looks great! I love decorating for Christmas it always puts me in a good mood. Anyhow, best of luck with your first day at your new job. I look forward to hearing how you like it.
Your tree is so pretty! I'm glad you guys had a fun Thanksgiving! Good luck at work!
Wait a minute! Is that Tommy's jacket that Ben's wearing?
Yes ma'am it is Tommy's jacket! We didn't get him a heavy coat until Friday so we've had to layer him up.
Mubeen, if you got your tree skirt at Wal-mart then we definitely have the same one! Nemo was a lot better than we all expected it to be. I can't wait for them to have Incredibles or something like that!
Sounds like you guys had alot of fun!!! We want to take Bella to Nemo on Ice...but we may have to wait for Princesses on Ice!! LOL! I LOVE those pictures of your tree...very pretty!
Ben is soo adorable! I cant believe how big he is already. It doesnt seem like too long ago that we moved to Houston and he was just a newborn. Thanks for your comments on our blog and the great tip for reflux. It's great to see your blog and finally get back in touch!
