3rd Day on the Job

Today is my third day at Burleson. So far, it's been about what I expected. I'll have a lot of freedom to do what I want, when I want and everyone is really nice. So far I haven't done a lot. I'm learning the content management system and looking at other school sites to see what they do. I've already done some updating to the main site, but there will be more intensive things to do when I take over the individual school sites. I found out today that I get to to to the TCEA conference for a day in Austin in February and I'm actually pretty excited about that. They're going to have a lot of web workshops. I need to learn all I can!

I do have to say that working in Burleson as compared to Dallas is like night and day! To sum up what it's like in Burleson, a mom and daughter work in our same office and we all rode together to the Superintendent's birthday lunch and the daughter shouts out "Mom! Daddy is at Golden Corral! I see his car!" Ahh, small town living...

Oh dear. I'm sure you've got some culture shock. You're going to need some Dallas therapy pretty frequently, so we need to set up some play dates.

That is funny. I am glad that adjustment is going okay though. Keep us updated.

I was just going to e-mail you about your job! I'm glad it's going well! Burleson certainly is interesting, isn't it? I'm all for helping you with some Dallas therapy. Count me in!

Have you taken a picture of Ben with his Nemo hat?

Well I have almost two weeks off at Christmas so we can definitely do playdates then! Sounds like fun!

yay, I'm so glad it's going good. I've been meaning to ask you about it. It just sounds like it will be a really good atmosphere and opportunity.

It sounds like a great job. I am sure that as you become oriented more you will get to work on some pretty neat projects.

Well, you know, Mom did have to drive to Burleson to get the shotgun shell Christmas lights! Glad it's going well!
