Thursday Night Thoughts and Updates
I'm sitting here when I should be at the temple with John and proably half of the rest of our ward. But, unfortunately, it just wasn't in the cards for us. We were late leaving to take Ben to my mom's to babysit and as we got onto I-30 it was a parking lot. A wreck at Cooks Lane had the left hand lane blocked and at evening rush hour, that only results in miles and miles of back-ups. So we exited as soon as we could because we knew there was no way we'd make it and John dropped me off at home and went on his way. Hopefully I will get to see everyone at the baptism on Saturday!
Ben has been having a hard time falling asleep lately and sometimes I wish I could just pick him up and rock him to sleep like I did when he was smaller. I'm not so much a baby person, but the fact that he is growing up so fast sometimes makes me sad, but his independence and spirit are amazing to see grow! I thought about this as I resented not being able to be there tonight but as I went in Ben's room to try and calm him down as I stroked his face he just looked at me and smiled and I thought to myself that there was no where else I would rather be than right there.
Just to keep you guys updated, on Monday, John has another test to become a police officer. We haven't heard anything back from Lewisville, but hear they take a long time after the testing is completed. So on we go to other police forces that are hiring. Monday's test is in Richardson and their pay, qualifications and testing are pretty similar to Lewsville. John hopes with some refresher studying he should do okay. Thankfully both the written and physical tests aren't on the same day!
As far as work for me, things are going good. I've had a lot of smaller projects for things they're taking to job fairs. It's been a lot of fun. We're working with a company near San Antonio that's doing the theming for our website based off of the design I created. They're theming based on our content management system, which is outside our range of expertise and we just don't have the time to devote to it. I am so excited to see the new site up and running. I'll do full before/afters once it's live, but I don't want to spoil anything yet!
Ultimately, life is a little stressful sometimes and there never seems to be as many hours in the day as I wish I had, but we're plugging along and are still a little happy family doing it!
And speaking of baby Ben, let's take a short trip down memory lane, shall we?
Sigh. That was fun, wasn't it. Well, I'm off for some hot chocolate! Everyone have a warm and safe weekend!
Like the new blog layout. Sorry about the temple trip not working out and good luck to the hubby on his interview stuff. I posted some stuff for you on moneymamas. take care!

Haha Sarah! How do you think it makes ME feel?! Sigh.
Awwww, Missy, those are such cute pictures!!!!!!! His eyes, sigh...so beautiful! I wonder what Zayn will look like. I wanted you and John to know that we live literally ten minutes from the Temple. So ANYTIME you guys want to go to the Temple, feel free to drop Ben off. We would be happy to watch him while you guys go. Honestly. Madyson would love to play with him as well!!!!
We will pray for John and your family. Everything will fall into place.
Sorry about not getting to go to the temple. But I'm glad you enjoy your family so much. We'll keep John in our prayers.
I love that first picture of Ben. He's like "aaaahhhh, so comfy"
Good luck John!
