President Gordon B. Hinckley
Our dear Prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away today at 7 p.m. I have no need to say anything profound because his life was testimony enough of what a great man he was. We will miss him dearly!
**I thought I'd post the words to one of my favorite hymns**
We thank thee, O God, for a Prophet
To guide us in these latter days;
We thank thee for sending the Gospel
To lighten our minds with its rays;
We thank thee for every blessing
Bestowed by thy bounteous hand;
We feel it a pleasure to serve thee,
And love to obey thy commands.When dark clouds of trouble hand o'er us,
And threaten our peace to destroy,
There is Hope smiling brightly before us,
And we know that deliv'rance is nigh;
We doubt not the Lord nor his goodness,
We've proved him in days that are past;
The wicked who fight against Zion
Will surely be smitten at last.We'll sing of his goodness and mercy;
We'll praise him by day and by night;
Rejoice in his glorious Gospel,
And bask in its life-giving light;
Thus on to eternal perfection
The honest and faithful will go;
While they who reject this glad message,
Shall never such happiness know.
i love that picture!
I was thinking of that song last night as I was getting ready for bed. I will miss Pres. Hinckley!
Hey, can you find the picture of him in the hat? People keep asking me about that one.
I have it on my computer at home (I'm pretty sure anyway!) I'll email it to you tonight!
Thank you for that song, it's so beautiful Ü
Today on Paul Harvey, both the 7:30 a.m. and noon news, he spoke highly of Pres. Hinckley calling him a gentle man and a bridge builder. I wish I had written down all that he said. Not only was he a gentle man but a gentleman because I remember walking out of Church Headquarters with him and his wife and Dad and he held the door for us and told Dad to take good care of the buildings in Texas. He was one of a kind and, yes, he will be mightily missed!
It is very sad news to hear that he's gone. I would love that picture as well if you could email it to me. BobetteDavis@hotmail.com
