It's the Little Things in Life

John was super sweet and sent me tulips yesterday for Valentine's Day to my work! Everyone here gushes over stuff like that so it was really fun to get them. They're beautiful! And they're not the normal roses everyone else has gotten in the office so that's awesome.

Then yesterday on my way home from work I actually EXITED COLLINS. This is a miracle considering they completely tore down the entrance/exit bridge and in spectacular timing created an exit and access road. I was so excited it isn't even funny.

Then it got better. I know, can you believe it? I was headed to pick up dinner and spotted a restaurant that's been under construction across from Lincoln Square I've had my eye on, and practically squealed with excitement when I saw that they'd put up a sign and it's a Panera Bread! I've been missing not having a Corner Bakery close to use because I love that place. Panera is so good and I'm excited for John to get to go!

See? It doesn't take much to please me... Some nice flowers, a bit more ease of driving and a great restaurant!

They finally fixed that exit?! I wish they would've done that when I lived over there...

I LOVE Panera! That's awesome about the tulips and especially Collins. It seemed like such a mess the last time we saw it! I'm excited to see how that entire area looks when it's completed. What do you think about Romney endorsing McCain?

I hadn't heard he endorsed McCain, but who is he going to endorse? Obama? Haha. He's probably looking for the VP seat by doing this, which would be a good place for him to be, unless they lose!

Who knows? This whole election cycle is making me crazy...

I can't belive Arlington got a Panera! I have missed that place, this will make the move to Texas so much better now. Thanks for the info! :)

Im so excited for that Panera to be there! I have never eaten there, but my sister swears by it!

I love tulips, and I'm with you about it not being typical, which makes it so much better. Never had Panera...

Yes - Romney and McCain were on TV acting like blood brothers or something. It had to be done to unify the party, I guess, but I see so much politics with my newspapering that sometimes I just would like to see real honesty. That would hurt, wouldn’t it? I suspect the talk show people will go nuts on Friday over that.

Tulips are a great choice. Ginny and Julianne even brought me some in a planter for Valentine’s Day since I don’t have a sweetie to do it for me!

Panera Bread sounds good - I’ll give it a try! Do they do a good chicken salad sandwich?

How fun to get flowers at work! A few people here got them too. I got red roses, so I'm happy with that!

Definitely the little things in life are what matter! We definitely have this one thing in common-CORNER BAKERY! We'll have to arrange a lunch date!

Have you had La Madeleine? I LOVE THEIR CHICKEN SALAD CROSSAINTS! YUM!

Hey chica, Alan sent me tulips for V Day as well and I LOVED them. They were much better than the roses I've received in years past.
