A Short Movie Review: Enchanted

I bought Enchanted on sale yesterday because I never saw it in the theater. John was nice enough to watch the entire thing with me last night and I loved it! It's so over the top and a bit ridiculous at times (John kept asking me if they were serious) but I really did love it. I thought Amy Adams was kind of annoying at the Oscars and felt sorry for her having to sing one of the songs all by herself but she redeemed herself in the movie. She was such a Disney Princess I just kept laughing! Anyway, what did you all think? Any favorite parts?

I love Enchanted! It has little bits in honor of many Disney greats (like her trying to talk to the fish in the fish tank at the law firm a la Ariel, or the ballroom scene with twirls worth of Beast and Belle's dance), and the over-the-top parts are them making fun of the silliness of these cartoons, because we would probably accept it if it were cartoons. My favorite HAS to be the How Do You Know song and dance number, in the park (I have the soundtrack and have almost memorized the song). I love Alan Menken, so what's not to love about this movie??

Yup, my favorite part is the "How does she know that you love her" song complete with the reggae band following her all through the park. And I too thought how silly it was the first time, but then I realized they are kind of spoofing, but not too much all of the other princess movies. I think all of them are represented in some way. It was a very cute way to make a new Princess movie without it being just like the other ones!

Sarah is buying this today since it didn't stop raining yesterday...all I know is that her and Bella went to see this twice in the movie theater and Bella sat through the whole thing...we have the soundtrack and listened to it a few hundred times on our trip this weekend. Living with all girls I can watch kid and/or chick movies and still retain my manblog status. Amy Adams isn't so tough to watch, either. She was funny on saturday night live with her skit about her identical twin.

Yes...we are watching it at this very moment...i LOVE it...I love that it's over the top and girly...ya'll will ALL understand when you have yourself a girly-girl...it's absolutely fun to just sit back and ENJOY!
Bella can actually kinda sing along to most of the songs in the soundtrack (hmmm, wonder why!)

I still haven't seen it. I'm gonna look up redbox right now.

I love the silliness of this movie, and I think it's such a good-natured satire of fairy tales, especially the Disney cartoons. I like the Happy Working Song, once I get past the disgusting roaches, of course! But, I love the big "How does she know" musical number in the park. You can't have a Disney fairy tale without a huge musical number!

I JUST watched it. My review: eh.

I think Amy Adams is absolutely adorable. Seriously, she is so stinkin' cute. I really liked the movie, it's like they are making fun of Disney princesses yet paying them homage all through the movie.

Oh Kari, you are such a cynic. But that's why I like you. Haha.

I finally got to watch this on one of my long airplane rides. I really liked it. It's a clever spoof of all the Disney Princess movies. I think my favorite part was them dancing at the ball.
(I will admit that I was a little sad to see a musical that has Idina Menzel in it but she doesn't ever sing.)
