Yuck Yuck Yuck and more Yuck!

That's how I feel about the weather today. It just keeps getting uglier and uglier out there! And SNOW? That is going to make for a nasty drive home today!

So yesterday I taught Relief Society for the first time in like SIX YEARS since I taught in the single's ward. It was actually really fun and I forget how easy it is to teach Relief Society because the sisters have such good things to say! But unfortunately one of the counselors in our Bishopric stopped me on our way out to see if we could speak in Sacrament in two weeks! I have no idea how we're going to handle that with Ben. It should be interesting! I always like the idea of speaking in Sacrament until I actually have to do it. We're supposed to talk about being good examples so I'll start looking for ideas today.

Other than that I really don't have a lot to talk about or even a lot going on. I know I need to post some pictures of Ben so I'll try and take some soon! My mom took some yesterday of him eating carrot cake (I know, sounds fascinating doesn't it?) and I will post those when she emails them to me (hint, hint, Mom!)

You know I didn't get to catch you before we left church, but I REALLY loved your lesson. For all your nervousness that you say you had, you did so well. The Spirit was there, and I could tell everyone enjoyed it very much! As on RS teacher to another, thank you for the beautiful lesson!

FUN!?! You call teaching RS fun? I would be a nervous wreck! Good job, though, someone's gotta do it, and it seems that you're good at it! Speaking in sacrament shouldn't be too hard with Ben. Just sit in the pews until it's your turn to speak. Ask the Bishop if you can speak before the intermediate hymn, and John after, and that would make life a lot easier because one of you could stay out in the hall if he's screaming. Or, ask a friend to take him out in the hall for you or sit with him with lots of busy toys and fruit snacks. Whatever works best. You'll do great! Good luck!

I'll tell you how you can handle Ben....Steven and I will sit on the very front row and you can leave him with us! That way, Ben can see Mommy and Daddy and Steven (husband) might actually pay attention in church! Your lesson was great, too, by the way. I'm glad your teaching, because it makes such a difference to have a teacher that's easy to relate too.

Oh, and don't worry at all about choir practice. Struggling with an almost-2-year-old is practically impossible. BUT if you guys ever DID want to sing with us, I'd give you the music/practice CD and one or both of you would be MORE than willing to perform with us!

yay! speaking in sacrament is such a joy!! You'll do an awesome job!! It looks so peaceful outside right now with snow all over the ground. Maybe it will ice and you won't have to work!!

Well, Jenny already volunteered to watch Ben for you this time, but if you need help with him another time I would be happy to help. My kids always end up sitting with Grandma anyway. (She's more fun to sit with than me, apparently.)

I agree with Melinda! In my whole life (and I'm old) I've taught Relief Society a total of 3 times and I always feel completely stupid. In front of the little kids I'm fine making a fool of myself, but not the women!
