Ben has become way too smart for his own good. He is making mental note after mental note of the things John and I do, so much so it's a little scary! Two recent examples:
1. I'm lazy sometimes when it comes to cleaning up small spills. If one of Ben's old t-shirts or jammies are lying around I'll grab one and wipe up a quick spill of milk and throw it in the washer. On Tuesday Ben's straw cup had leaked milk out of the top onto his table and Ben says "Oh no!" then proceeds to run into our bedroom, grabs one of MY shirts and uses it to clean up the milk. I couldn't get mad. Payback is fair game I guess!
2. At night John and I put our laundry basket in front of our door to keep Ben from swinging the door open in the morning because it bangs against my desk. Ben has to push the door open pretty hard to get the basket to move out of the way when he wakes up in the morning. Especially now that he's been waking up RIDICULOUSLY early. So at night he likes to get out of bed a couple of times and we have to go put him back. He just wiggles the handle of his door and we know he's about to come out. The past few days I noticed that his door was hard to open because his towel was in front of it. I usually put his diaper on and his jammies right inside his door so I didn't think anything of it. That is until last night when I deliberately put his towel on his ottoman. After he was in bed he was making noise at his door and jiggling the handle so I went to tell him to get back in bed and realized the towel was blocking his door! I guess he wanted to make it equally as hard for us to get into his room at night. The little sneak!
Haha, they are smarter than we realize!!! Cute memories though!!!
That's so funny! Aren't kids great?
It's amazing how perceptive they are! I've really been having to watch what I say lately, for fear of having Stevie repeat the exact words to me!
It is so funny the things kids pick up from us. It cracks me up. Let's hope that cleaning up spills with items of clothing is the worst thing he picks up! My kids have already picked up worse... Should I admit that?
Our old stake president that children most often get in trouble for imitating their parents--I guess it's true!
