Three-day Weekend
Early last week we found out that we'd for sure get Monday of this week off and I was so excited! John and I didn't have anything fancy planned since he has to work but at least I'd get a day off to hang out with Ben! Our weekend overall was great.
Friday night I hung out with my friend Kelli for a little girlfriend R&R with a dinner and movie. On the Border + Chick Flick = Awesome. We saw Made of Honor which I'll post a quick review of later! John was nice enough to let me fly solo for the night (he did get to play Wii with Bryce for the night so it wasn't a total bust for him!) even though I was also going to a baby shower on Saturday! Can I just say what a wonderful husband I have? The baby shower was so much fun because I got to catch up with another friend Steph who I haven't seen since she moved. Steph was my visiting teacher for over a year and she is awesome. We have so much fun and laugh a lot when we get to hang out. Hopefully we'll get to do it more often!
After we got home from going to Stake Conference then having lunch at my mom's house, my sister Mandie and I were throwing around the idea of me coming up for a play date since I had Monday. My mom had thought about going up this week anyway. I mentioned that to John who got really irritated for some reason and told me that he didn't care what I did, and that I should go hang out with my sister. I told him if he didn't want me to, I wouldn't. We went to bed and when Ben woke us up the next morning I asked John if he needed to get ready for work and he said that he had told work last week he was taking the day off so we could spend the day together and had wanted to surprise me! Yay! I got to do some much needed grocery shopping that morning then after Ben woke up from his nap it was off to Grapevine Mills!
We haven't been to Grapevine in a really long time so I was excited to go. When we got there we realized that we didn't have the stroller which we thought was in John's car! We contemplated renting one of those kid carts for $5 but thought we'd take a chance and just let Ben walk. Crazy of us, right? But he did awesome! He held our hands the whole time and had so much fun going up and down the stairs. We had a great time and totally scored at Children's Place where we stocked up on $3 polos! It really doesn't get much better than that!
I'm thankful for my little family and for our friends and the fun times we have together!
It sounds like you had a really awesome weekend! I'm glad you and John and Ben got to spend Monday together!
Aw yay! Great husband and great friends = Blessed Missy! Sounds like such a fun weekend! Good job John and yay for girls nights! (which we still need to do!)
Excuse me!? $3 polos? Why didn't you call me!? Tommy needs as many shirts as he can get for school! Oh well, I'm glad you had fun with your family!
Sorry Melinda! How was I supposed to know?? I probably should have called a lot of people but I was so wrapped up in the moment ! They had a TON though!!
Friday was totally fun, and I want to see that movie again. Definitely on the higher end of chick flicks, in my opinion. And you never go wrong wtih On the Border. I should go to Children's Place, Fynn has grown out of everything.
Girls' nights are awesome! $3 polos at Children's place? That's just amazing. I think I need to make a trip to Grapevine if we're having a girl to stock up a little.
