Ben's 2-year Appointment
This morning was Ben's 2-year appointment. (Not a month too soon, right?) But man. That kid hates being poked and prodded by strangers! I don't blame him, especially when you already don't like being naked! He did great for the most part, but I forget how much he knows and understands and what personal space issues he has with strangers. He would NOT sit or stand on the scale to be weighed and me and the nurse had to physically hold him down to measure him. (Thankfully I had measured him two days ago and they matched!) His weight on the other hand was WAY off because he was uncooperative so the doctor told me to weigh him tonight at home while I'm holding him.
Here are his unofficial stats at 2 years old:
Height: 27 1/2" (97th percentile)
Weight: 33.5lbs (95th percentile)
We know he weighs at least 35 pounds so we'll check that again tonight! He does have a bit of fluid in his ears because of his runny nose, but the dr said that a week or two of Claritin should clear it right up. The best part was that the nurse was so fast with the shot he didn't even realize what was happening and said "OW!" and that was it. No more shots till he's 4, yay!
**Update: I weighed Ben on 7/21 and he was 35.6 pounds**
What a brave boy for taking that shot with just an "ow!" Good to hear he's healthy and growing, just like he's supposed to!!
Sounds like he's doing great. Don't worry about the stranger thing. He will probably grow out of it, but it should keep him safe for now.
