Heartbreak
This is my aunt and uncle's cute house from the front.
And this is their cute house from the back.
Last night their home was struck by lightning. It was a 5-alarm fire and has nearly devastated their entire house. They were actually out of town visiting my aunt's family and it might be a good thing because lightning struck the master bedroom and they could have gotten hurt! We went by after church today to take pictures of everything we could in case people come in and try to steal things (though everything is mostly ruined) and so that they will have them for insurance purposes. As John and I pulled up to their house I had to keep my composure because I was devastated for them. I have never known anyone whose house burned down, let alone my own relative. Please keep them in your prayers! If you want to see more pictures go here.
OH MY GOSH!!!! That's terrible!!! What a darling house!! things like this scare me especially when it's someone you know!! I'm glad they were out of town....that's a blessing! hope all will get better soon. Love the pics of your girl night!! so much fun. love the artichoke dip and the amazing dessert. I'm so hungry right now!!
Oh I am so SAD for them. But I am glad they were out of town.
How sad! And scary! They will be in my prayers.
Oh how sad! I will keep them in my prayers!
Oh my goodness! That is like something you see on TV but never affects you in real life! What a blessing that they were out of town, and that no one was hurt!
I'm so sorry for them. I don't ever really know what to say when tragedy strikes, but I echo the others, thanks goodness they weren't home.
I just feel sick to my stomach looking at the back of that house. It must be so horribly bewildering to see all your possessions ruined. But it's true what everyone said, thank goodness no one was there, because people can't be replaced!
