Founders Plaza
Saturday afternoon we headed up to the newly constructed Founders' Plaza at DFW airport. This park used to exist on the southeast corner of the airport and is now located at the northwest corner. I've loved the airport park ever since we discovered it when I was in the single's ward. You get to see planes so up close as they land and they broadcast the tower communications between pilots and the air traffic controllers. John used to work at UPS at the airport and we both love planes. I used to go to the airport just to watch planes land when you could still do that.
We had a great time! Ben will probably take a few times to not be so scared (the planes are kind of loud when they are about to take off) but overall it was not a disappointment. We can't wait to go back and probably some night this week! If you're interested in going you can get the map and details here!
How cool! Wow! Thanks for sharing this tip, b/c we NEVER would have found out about something like this! I am totally going to have to take the kids there! they will love it!
Oh my gosh! The girls are going to love that park! Thanks for sharing!!
That looks like fun. I doubt the girls are going to get to see a plane up close anytime soon. Flying has become to expensive with so many kids.
We love Founders Plaza! David has always loved aviation and introduced me to the old Founders Plaza. We used to go there all the time. In fact, that spot was so special to us that it's where David proposed to me-lol. The new one is a better location for looking at the planes though! We went there a few weeks ago before it was officially open.
what a fun thing to do!!! The pic of ben and john reminds me of forrest gump!! so cute!! And um...LOVE the new bags and wallet!! I could buy a makeup back every week if I had the cash!! the purse is way cute!!
Hey Lady! I have something for you and Jon, but I didn't see you today! I'll have to get it to you next week.
Fun!! We'll have to check it out! Those are some wonderful pictures! Love the one of John and Ben!
We love this park! It's fun to watch the planes take off and land. The picture of Ben with his hands covering his face is too cute.
