Fun Friends Family Sick

We like having busy weekends. This weekend was definitely no exception! We headed over to do our family pictures Friday after we both got home and got all dressed and ready to go. It's such a quick drive up to Las Colinas and the location was great! It was cool and shady. There was even a wedding going on at one of the hotels so they were out taking pictures of the bride. It's a pretty popular spot, but for good reason. Ben was the epitome of uncooperative. It was crazy! He cried a lot and wouldn't sit still. But what would you expect from a rambunctious 2-year old? We really can't wait to see the pictures!

Saturday morning we went to River Legacy to go walking. Once John's knee is feeling better we'll go for an actual jog. Ben actually had fun sitting int he stroller and pointing at EVERY single person that passed us. We headed to Grapevine again after that since I needed more of this stuff. We didn't stay very long and Ben had a complete freak out when we approached the Rainforest Cafe. He totally lost it. It was so bizarre. So we skipped the trip to the Disney Store and figured we would convince Ben to be Mr. Incredible again when we went to Boo at the Zoo later that day.

Boo at the Zoo was fun! We don't get to see the Heatons very often but thankfully we'll see them again soon! It was so packed but the concept is really cool and we'll definitely take Ben again. He didn't really acclimate to the zoo very well, he was so scared and stayed in the stroller most of the time, or clung to John. We figure he needs to get out and do more stuff like that so he'll actually get used to the idea! It was still fun though!

Most Sundays after church we head over to my mom's for dinner. Ben had a hard time going down for a nap there and John and I got to go early vote. GO EARLY VOTE! We didn't have to wait in line at all! When Ben woke up from his nap he was kind of lethargic and he kept saying "I hot." So he sat on my lap at the table while we ate and then sat with John on the couch for a good 20 minutes. On the way home he kept saying his tummy hurt so we figured it was probably because he hadn't eaten. No, he threw up. All over our rug. He's only thrown up once, but he was still hot and was still hot this morning so I decided to stay home since he can't go to day care if he's sick. I'm crossing my fingers the throwing up was just a fluke...

Here are some pictures from Boo at the Zoo. I didn't take very many since Ben was being high maintenance. I really do recommend anyone going, especially if your kids are more adventurous than mine! But go EARLY, the traffic backs up fast. And park in the lot across the street if it's open because they'll force you to exit Forest Park Blvd instead of University and the line to get back on to University was soooo long. We didn't have to wait at all getting of our lot!
