Our Weekend +

1. On Friday I drove to Arlington from Burleson during work to get my car assessed by Allstate after some confusion with my original appointment on Thursday. And we were right, my car is totaled. It's kind of a bittersweet situation. First, we have a love/hate relationship with that car. It's been a good car, we've put over 100K miles on it, it's such a pretty red, and most importantly, IT'S PAID OFF. But we also hate it because it's like the bad luck car. We can't go 6 months without getting into another accident or something else going wrong. It's been in, let me count, 4 accidents since we've had it. I'm excited for the new car part, but not for a car payment again! Thankfully John had the forethought to call the credit union we got our last car payment through and got pre-approved last week. The only thing we're waiting on is a YES from the claims adjuster saying the accident was her fault. Cross your fingers we get a yes SOON!

2. Friday night we finally got to hang out with the Taylors. We've been trying for so long and everyone kept getting sick! We let Ben and Ewan and Fynn get their wiggles out together. And ate lots of this. I love little Corgan. He's such a sweet baby. In the next few weeks I'll be doing his newborn pictures. So excited about that!

3. Saturday John and I took pictures. Lots and lots of pictures! Keep an eye out here for more updates today and the rest of this week!

4. Our weekend was backwards, we had dinner and hung out with my mom on Saturday then hung out with some friends on Sunday night so waking up this morning I was so hoping it was still the weekend! We had a great time Sunday night with the Heatons. I took their family pictures in Las Colinas where Ambyr did ours. It was quite a spectacle because there were no less than 7 or 8 photographers. There were a few families getting pictures as well as a bride and a quincenera. Even with all that we got some great shots. Then we got to see their new house and had a lot of fun.

5. A big change we've noticed in Ben lately is his interaction with other kids. He's gone from the side-by-side play toddlers do, to actually interacting and having conversations with other kids. He loves Ewan and Fynn and he loves Madyson and Zayn, too. He can't stop talking about all the fun things he did this weekend. I can't believe he's becoming so grown up!

6. Question for the day. Since we'll be getting a new car soon thoughts of all kinds of cars have been in our conversations. And the fact that my boss just bought a brand new Corvette got me thinking about what we would buy if money was no object. So if money was no object, what kind of car would you buy? I'm still thinking about this one. My response will be in comments!

If money were no object, I would buy a Lexus SC430 -- the hard top convertible. I love the way they look, and you can never beat a convertible. I like the burgundy color, but overall I wouldn't turn down any of the colors.

Most definitely the new 2009 Honda Odyssey, Touring model. Ahh...a new van with all the bells and whistles, oh and make it Bali Blue Pearl! Someday....

Oooo, I like the 2009 Honda Odyssey idea. But a 2009 Honda Pilot (8-seater) would be dreamy too.

Wow... a mini van? If money were no object you all would get a mini van?? Don't get me wrong... I love me a mini van but if money were no object, I would be getting me a range rover. Oh the beautiful car! And someday, perhaps a corvette... you know... for tooling around. :-)

I'm thinking a Yukon with leather seats...in red ;).
But I would soooo go for a van! With a little Jaguar XK8 Convertible to drive on the weekends! If money were no object, I think I'd have 2 cars and a Harley. Oh man, dream dreamin!

We're so glad you guys came over! It was fun! Thanks again for taking such wonderful pictures of us!

Bummer your car was totalled, but sometimes it is a blessing! Mike got in a wreck a while back and we were hoping...but no. Anyway, to answer your question, for sure, a Range Rover. Big, tough, and super classy. One of these days.

I have my eye set on the GMC Acadia. Not only does it look good but it gets pretty good gas mileage for a crossover.

Hmm, I'd probably get a vintage Mustang convertible. Or a Volvo convertible. And have it custom painted heather purple. But remember when you're looking, we currently have a GM, 2 Chryslers, a Ford & 2 Toyotas. The Toyotas are by far the most reliable, and one of them has over 300,000 miles on it. Carrie's has over 150,000 and has never had a major repair of any kind.
