Update on my car annoyance situation

I called Allstate yesterday and they have accepted liability of my accident. Can I get a yay?! We were really worried there for a while that they weren't going to, and we'd have to go through the hassle of fighting it, etc. But we're in the clear! It will probably still be a week before we actually get the money for my car (we're hoping it's not any longer than that) but not we're stuck in a weird situation. Since my car is totaled and Allstate has accepted liability, technically I'm not allowed to drive it. Something about putting more miles on it makes it worth less, blah blah. But they still have to get the title and power of attorney from us to be able get a check. The time frame on all of this is such that they may have to provide me a rental car while everything is being taken care of on the paperwork side. And we're honestly not thrilled at the thought of them taking my car to their salvage lot without us having a check first. Who knows how it will go.

So that's where we stand. It's so frustrating being on someone else's time frame. I know it's not the worst thing in the world, but it is a major inconvenience! We just hope we can spend next Saturday car shopping! It will be the most expensive birthday present ever. That's life I guess!
