Monday Madness
1. For some reason I'm really tired lately even though I'm pretty sure I've been getting 8+ hours of sleep at night. Maybe it's the massive amount of sugar I consumed this weekend. Hm...
2. Do you ever look back on your weekend and not be able to remember anything you did? It always takes me a few minutes thinking to recall what we actually did over the weekend sometimes. Especially if I'm tired. ;)
3. We like to drive far distances to go shopping at places like Walmart, especially on Friday nights. We took the back roads to a Walmart we often frequent in Hurst on Friday night and it was so worth it. The place was a ghost town. And knowing how busy most Walmarts are on Fridays it was a welcome change.
4. We drove past a CiCis on the way to Walmart and stopped there for dinner on our way back. We decided during dinner that the kind of people that go to CiCi's will tell you pretty much the racial/economical make-up of the town it's in. This particular CiCi's was full of middle income white families, some Hispanic and some African American. All looked like families together, not the usual baby mama crowd we get at our CiCi's.
5. While we were at CiCi's some redneck idiot high school boys ran in wearing daisy duke shorts, plaid shirts tied around their midsections, boots and cowboy hats. We decided we really didn't want to know the back story on how that became a good idea!
6. It was really cold on Saturday!
7. After dinner on Saturday night (with my good friend Nikki), John, Ben, Nikki and I went to Petsmart to get Ben a fish. He loves fish, we always have to look at them at Walmart and they have a fish tank in his classroom. So we ended up bringing home two male Bettas. One is bright blue, the other is shiny red and purple. Ben is so cute. He would look into the blue one's bowl and say "Hi there little kiddo! Hi little kiddo!" So the blue one's name is Little Kiddo and the red one we named Rocket because he zips around his bowl like a crazy fish!
8. Needless to say I have about 500 pictures I have yet to download from my camera. Picture post coming soon. Promise.
9. We stayed home Sunday rather than going to my mom's so we could try and go to choir practice. I had already planned on cooking a pot roast and for some reason I became consumed with what I was working on in the kitchen we pretty much forgot to go to choir. Ben needed his sleep anyway because the Taylors came over later to help us eat said pot roast and it became crazy boy town at our house. They always play really well together. And it was so much fun. Ben didn't go to sleep till nearly 10pm!
10. When the Taylors came over I moved my car to visitor parking across the street so they could park in my spot. This morning I grumbled when I realized I'd have to walk all the way over there with a laptop backpack, lunch bag, purse and a 40-lb 2 year old to get in the car. Imagine my pure joy when I opened the door and saw that John had already moved my car back. At 5:30 this morning! I love him.
How sweet of John to move your car! That's so awesome! Weekends are sometimes a blur for me too. Don't worry. It happens. Ben is the first of the "new batch" of grandkids to get a pet! (Tommy's 3-hour tadpoles do NOT count. Yuck.) I hope he enjoys his fish!
Warning: Never say you are tired for some unknown reason, because someone WILL ask if you are pregnant. Consider it a prophecy.
That was so nice of John! Bryce does nice stuff like that, too. My boys went to sleep, but Fynn woke up at least five times in the night. *Sigh* I'm tired.
What a nice husband!! And how cute of Ben to name his fish Little Kiddo. I bet he'll love having pets.
I almost put a disclaimer, Kelli! For the record I am NOT pregnant. :)
Wow, I just going to ask that very question! The fish are cute. Did you ahve a funeral? And way to go John for being so thoughtful!
