Things I Learned This Weekend

1. Engagement shoots are fun. But they're even more fun when John comes, too!
2. My mom is a saint and Ben loves her. We dropped him off before the shoot because taking him with us to a park on the Trinity River just seemed a bit too risky. Thank you Mom!
3. We still love CiCi's. Don't judge me. :)
4. Cabela's is a great place to visit but not a great place to actually BUY stuff. It's all SO expensive. Ben loved the fish though!
5. Portable DVD players are a must-have for parents who drive their kids anywhere for more than 30 minutes. Especially if you are trying to keep them awake so they will nap when you get home!
6. Sitting on the couch watching football with your husband and doing absolutely nothing is nice. SO nice.
7. Going to wedding receptions isn't so bad. Especially for families we've know forever. These two nice kids are now in our ward and we're totally happy to have them! I also love seeing people from my ward growing up that I haven't seen in a long time!
8. If your husband tries to turn on your blow dryer at 7:45 on Sunday morning and pronounces it doesn't work, panic ensues. Panic ensues more greatly when you also try to turn on your flat iron to at least have some semblance of normal hair and it doesn't work either. Then when you try both appliances in three different outlets and none of them are working, you realize it was probably just a breaker, fix it, then the world goes back to normal. And then you can have pretty hair for church on Sunday!
9. Sundays are always nice. A little stressful with a wired two-year-old, but I always feel like Sundays are a culmination of a long week.
10. No matter how many times you tell a kid the white streaks going through the sky are jets, he will always pretend it's Buzz Lightyear. :)
