Dear Ben,

I love ya, kid. No matter what. Even when you bang your fork as loud as you can on the table at CiCi's and scream when I stop you, I still love you. You did so good for the first hour and then as you realized just how long you'd been sitting in that booster it all went to pot. First I had to chase you down nearly to the end of the restaurant. You're a fast one; I was wearing heels. Then you amazed everyone with your animal noises and I was very proud of you. Then you had to throw a tantrum the likes of which I have never seen out of you before. Do you know how strong you are? Because I think sometimes I forget. Grandma did good by taking you down to sit on the fire truck. Then when she wasted 50 cents to turn it on, you lost it again. I don't blame you for that one though!

Finally we thought we would say bye-by to everyone but you insisted on screaming at the top of your lungs and wriggling free from me with surprising force. Even Aunt Randi tried to help, but by that time I realized what time it was and decided we should have left a lot sooner. It didn't help that a lady walking out behind us asked me how old you are. And when I said you were 20 months she gladly informed me that "Honey, it don't get no better. It only gets worse." Thanks, lady. You did awesome for the first hour and I'll forgive you for the rest (including the 10 minutes you cried in the car) all because I love you. Because as you sat on my lap so I could read you a bed time story the rest of tonight didn't matter to me anymore. And now as I look at your sweet face I realize that face is going to get you into a lot of trouble, but probably save you even more.

Love, Mommy

Aww! Any time you want to trade kids, let me know.

Hey, did you have your poll up before me? I swear I didn't steal your idea!

Haha Mandie! I actually stole the idea from you! ;) I just want to know who the Obama supporter is on your side!

Mom, yes I know he really is a sweetheart. The nice term people use for kids like him is "spirited." We get that a lot!

I loved seeing Ben tonight. And I did not think that tantrum was too intense... Mary has had worse. But, I did start to wonder how you would have another kiddo with the first one being so strong!

Well, consider it your exercise for the night! Yesterday in the foyer at church during the passing of the sacrament, I gave him a book to look at. It had a picture of Daniel in the lion's den. I gave it to him with the intent to help him sit still, he was so anxious to get down. But then he started "RARR! RARR!!!!!" So, he sat still at least! It was so cute.

I totally feel you! I have those moments with my three year old!!! There have been so many nights when Madyson is asleep that I look at her face and how sweet she looks and can't believe I even got frustrated with her that day!!! (even though she totally was a pain that day!!!) Ahhh, motherly love. So unconditional.

You & Mandie are keeping me in stitches! Be sure you save that post to read at his wedding reception!
